I got involved as a way to show my daughter how much she has to be thankful for, but it turned out that volunteering has showed me how much I have to be thankful for.  It is a lot of work to prepare for a birthday party with 30-50 keiki but it all pays off when I get to see the excitement in their eyes and joy on their faces.  Like my friend put it, I don't do it because I have a lot to offer, I do it because I have a little more than they do.  And as long as that remains true, I plan to help give these keiki memorable birthday parties.

Michelle and Tiana are the Birthday Ladies at Onelau'ena Shelter at Barbers Point.
They are doing a fantastic job at creating Happy Birthday memories for the families that live there.

Natasha and Kelli are the Birthday Ladies at Pai'olu Kaikiulu homeless shelter at Waianae.

They work at Ko Olina Resort & Marina and live on the Leeward coast. They are always looking for volunteers to help out or businesses that would like to sponsor a party. The parties are held on the last Saturday of each month. These ladies give effortlessly to the children & families at Pai'olu Kaiaulu. As we reflect on how much each of us has to be thankful, it is important that we do not forget to share with thoes who are less fortunate. We welcome everyone, come join the fun and be a part of it. Only you can make a difference in a child's life.

Clover Delos Reyes is the Birthday Lady at the Ka Uapo Shelter on Kauai.
